Course Description

The Fishing Masters IV Certificate is an internationally recognized designation issued by Transport Canada Marine Safety and Security (TCMSS). The holder of a Fishing Master, Fourth Class (FM IV) Certificate may act as a Master on board a fishing vessel of not more than 100 gross tons engaged on a near coastal 1 (up to 200 miles offshore) or sheltered waters voyage and as an officer in charge of a watch of a fishing vessel of any tonnage engaged on a near coastal 1 or sheltered voyage.

Prerequisites

Candidates will be required to pass the following TCMSS examinations: Chartwork and Pilotage Level 1, Navigation Safety Level 1 / domestic, Ship Construction and Stability Level 1, oral examination on General Seamanship.

Valid Government Issued Photo ID (i.e. Driver’s License, Passport or Citizenship Card)
