Course Description

This course is designed to provide knowledge of the safe and efficient operation of the ship’s machinery to watch-keeping engineers. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive a training certificate that is required to obtain one of the following certificates of competency or endorsement: 

  • Third-Class Engineer, Steam or Motorship
  • Fourth-Class Engineer, Steam or Motorship
  • Watch-keeping Engineer, Motor-driven Fishing Vessel
  • Maintenance Supervisor MOU/Self-Elevating

Prerequisites

Candidate Document Number (CDN).

Completed a minimum of six months of sea service performing duties related to an engineering position on board a vessel or an applicant is registered with a Marine Engineer Cadet Training Program as defined in TP 8911.

Valid Government Issued Photo ID (i.e. Driver’s License, Passport or Citizenship Card)
