Course Description

This online theory with on-site practical course is a refresher of training courses designed to comply with the regulations and to refresh the seafarers’ skills in basic emergency duties, through blended online theory with demonstrations along with on-site drills completing practical components and exercises. This training allows seafarers to renew their Marine Emergency Duties, Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (MED STCW) Basic Safety and MED Proficiency in Survival Craft Training for a period not exceeding five years.

Prerequisites

Valid medical certificate or Georgian College Medical Fitness Report. Georgian College Medical Fitness Report

Minimum 16 years of age.

Participants taking this course must be clean shaven.

Participants may be asked to participate in a fit test.

Valid Government Issued Photo ID (i.e. Driver’s License, Passport or Citizenship Card)

Please Note: All International - STCW Certificates must be submitted to Transport Canada for verification and validity. Contact your local Transport Canada office to ensure your certificates are endorsed prior to course registration. Any students arriving without proof of TC verification will not be able to participate in training with CMTR.
