Course Description
This course is intended for officers and crew designated to control firefighting operations on large domestic vessels. Advanced firefighting tactics and leadership skills are developed through live firefighting exercises, lectures and hands-on demonstrations by experienced ship’s officers and firefighters. At course completion, seafarers will have an understanding of the conduct of firefighting training for crew members, emergency response team leadership, management and control of injured persons, incident recording, crowd management, and search and rescue techniques.Prerequisites
Valid medical certificate or Georgian College Medical Fitness Report.
Minimum 16 years of age.
Participants taking this course must be clean shaven.
Participants may be asked to participate in a fit test.
Please Note: All International - STCW Certificates must be submitted to Transport Canada for verification and validity. Contact your local Transport Canada office to ensure your certificates are endorsed prior to course registration. Any students arriving without proof of TC verification will not be able to participate in training with CMTR.
