MARI 0250 - STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Other Than Fast Rescue Boats (Partially Online)
Course Description
This blended online theory with onsite practical course is a requirement for seafarers under the Standards of Training, Certification of Watchkeepers (STCW) convention of the International Maritime Organization. In the event that an emergency at sea requires a seafarer to abandon ship, this course prepares a student for the proficient use of lifeboats and life rafts. Further topics included in this course include rescue by helicopter and the use of signaling apparatus.
*Please note: If you are required to complete both the Basic Safety and Proficiency in Survival Craft training courses, you may enroll in the simultaneous sections held within the same month. The session dates do not overlap and allow you to complete both courses together.
Prerequisites
Valid medical certificate or Georgian College Medical Fitness Report.
Minimum 16 years of age.
Valid Government Issued Photo ID (i.e. Driver’s License, Passport or Citizenship Card)
Fatigue Management at Sea - Certificate
*Please Note: All International - STCW Certificates must be submitted to Transport Canada for verification and validity. Contact your local Transport Canada office to ensure your certificates are endorsed prior to course registration. Any students arriving without proof of TC verification will not be able to participate in training with CMTR.
